Car Crashes into Home, Injuring Driver

A Massachusetts man was injured in a car accident, when he crashed his car into a home on U.S. Route 201 just before 1 a.m. on Thursday, police said.

The man, 48, of Gloucester, was transported by helicopter to Bangor hospital following the crash. Early accident reports say, "The vehicle left the road and went airborne." There were no injuries to the occupants of the home.

Anytime an accident victim, the driver, is taken to Bangor Hospital - the Police meet the helicopter to take a blood sample from the injured person to be used for blood alcohol testing. A reconstruction of the crash has been requested.

At this time authorities are unsure if the accident involved alcohol but it is suspected. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
