Crash Kills Man; Injures Woman

A woman suffered serious injuries and a man has died following a car crash on southbound Interstate 495, report State Police. Preliminary investigations show that speed may have been a factor in the crash and that neither occupants of the car were wearing a seat belt.

The 2000 Volkswagen was traveling south at 2am when it swerved off the road, crashed with a highway sign and bounced back across all three lanes of travel and rolled over. Both passengers, a man and a woman, were thrown from the car. Officials are unable to determine who the driver of the vehicle was at this time.

The man died on the scene and the woman was transported to Morton Hospital and then flown to Massachusetts General Hospital. The crash is still currently being investigated by state police.
