A teenager was transported to Boston hospital after suffering serious injuries in a car accident last night, at 9:30 pm, on a road known by surrounding neighbors for its high speed and many accidents.

The 18-year-old was driving a Saturn on Route 114 when he struck a telephone pole. The driver was unconscious when firefighters and police arrived on the scene.

The unidentified driver had to be extracted from the vehicle by firefighters. He was transported to Salem Hospital by ambulance and later transported by helicopter to Boston hospital.

The passenger, the driver's brother, was able to emerge from the vehicles when firefighters arrived on the scene. He was also taken to the hospital but his injuries were not serious.

Police are reconstructing the accident to investigate how the crash occurred.
