Woman Killed after being Struck by Three Vehicles

A woman was killed in a fatal car accident yesterday when she was struck by three vehicles on Interstate 495 in Bellingham, report state police.

The woman was traveling north of exit 18 in her Honda when she broke down in the acceleration lane as she was attempting to get on the highway. She exited the car and was hit by a Ford F150 pickup. The impact of being hit knocked her into the left lane where she was then hit by a Nissan and a Chevy pickup.

She was transported to Milford Regional Medical Center but she was pronounced dead, said police. None of the other drivers were injured, according to police. Two of the other drivers are Massachusetts National Guard soldiers that were returning home from a weekend training session at the Massachusetts Military Reservation in Cape Cod, according to statements. They tried to help the woman until police arrived.

Two lanes were shut down for four hours as police investigated the accident. According to police, the accident is still being investigated but there are no pending charges against any of the drivers that were involved in the crash.
